Our protocol for acne treatment includes 3 parts: our signature BelaMD medical grade facial, IPL photorejuvenation, and platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections. Some patients may need just one of these treatments while others may need a combination of these three.

The BelaMD medical grade facial:

Microdermabrasion with the Aqua handpiece and diamond tip.
The Aqua handpiece fitted with one of 3 diamond tips is used to perform a medical grade exfoliation. Removing the outermost layers of the epidermis accelerates skin cell turnover and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Your complexion becomes smoother and brighter. Microdermabrasion also allows for better penetration of the ingredients that follow.

Hydrogen therapy with the H2 module.
Some of the potential benefits of hydrogen therapy in aesthetics include:

1. Improving skin hydration: Hydrogen therapy is thought to help improve skin hydration levels by increasing the amount of water in the skin.

2. Reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles: Hydrogen therapy is believed to have anti-aging effects, which may help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

3. Improving skin texture and elasticity: Hydrogen therapy is thought to improve skin texture and elasticity by increasing collagen production.

The Aqua handpiece is a closed looped system that will infuse our bCLEAR serum. The bCLEAR bio-infusion serum is formulated with an exclusive blend of potent ingredients that help to restore the skin texture and improve radiance by regulating sebum and stimulating cellular turn over. bCLEAR helps reduce excess oil, calm and soothe skin, and helps to restore optimal hydration. It is ideal for skin types which are prone to acne or blemishes, problematic, congested, or produce excessive oil.

* Oil-soluble salicylic acid penetrates deep into the skin to unclog pores and exfoliate.

* Zinc Acetylmethionate helps reduce excess oil and strengthen the skin

Cleansing and extraction with the Ultrasonic Skin Scrubber.
The Ultrasonic Skin Scrubber is a metal spatula that oscillates with ultrasonic vibrations creating a "pressure washing" effect.  The ultrasonic waves help loosen and remove oil, dirt, and cellular debris from pores. It can also be used for sonophoresis during which ultrasounds drive active ingredients into the skin by disrupting its lipid layer.

IPL for Acne
During an IPL treatment, a practitioner will use a device that emits intense pulsed light to target specific areas of the skin. The light is absorbed by the pigmented cells in the skin, causing them to break down and be naturally eliminated by the body. This process can result in a reduction of the appearance of sun damage, age spots, and freckles, as well as an improvement in overall skin tone and texture.

The Lumenis® IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Acne treatment enables your physician to greatly improve your skin appearance, reduce your acne, and at the same time treat the redness and pigmentation of your skin.

The unique Lumenis® IPL technology utilizes light flashes over the treated area, triggering a biochemical response that will eventually kill the bacteria within the pores.
 IPL is a non-invasive solution to inflammatory acne with less collateral effects than oral medication.

Lastly, we also offer Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections for active acne:
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a treatment that uses a patient's own blood plasma to promote healing and tissue regeneration. This healing process allows the skin on your face to become hydrated, plumper and younger. Platelet rich plasma can be seen as the foundation of great skin.

When used for acne treatment, the PRP is usually injected into the skin or applied topically. The platelets in the PRP contain growth factors that can promote the growth of new collagen and elastin, which can improve the overall appearance and texture of the skin. Additionally, PRP is known to reduce inflammation and promote healing, which can potentially lead to a reduction in the number of acne breakouts.

PRP treatment may also be beneficial for improving the appearance of scarring caused by previous acne. The growth factors in the PRP can stimulate the production of new skin cells, which can help to fill in scarred areas and improve the overall texture and tone of the skin.

By increasing the number of platelets in the areas of your face that have been damaged by the sun, scarred by acne, or losing elasticity, we can add a boost to your skin cells so these areas will naturally heal on their own.
